EVIL VIBES (Vol 1)

SYNOPSIS
A young woman decided to move in to an old bungalow that belonged to her best friend, Amy, who had migrated to Canada. During her stay, she discovered some mysterious happenings and sensed some eerie and evil vibes lurking in the old bungalow. As time passed by, she began to realise the ghosts and demons that she discovered may not be the only ones lurking in the house.

DIRECTOR COMMENT

This was my first short film shot in day time in 2008. I was trying to create horror by shooting scenes in day time not following the conventional night shoots. Acted by Jennifer Pang, it was a memorable shoot that lasted only a day (in one hot afternoon) that made me ventured into a path of becoming a professional film maker.

EVIL VIBES (Vol 3)

In this Vol 3 marked a new trend of horror. I had recently visited a town called "Tawau" in East Malaysia and was invited to hike a hill called "Bukit Gemok" about 396 metres high. That would be about 1,200 feet high above sea level. In the trail from the bottom to top lies 7 different sub-stations for tourists to rest and to take breaks during the climb. What interested me was according to local folks in Tawau, Station 4 is haunted. The locals claimed to have seen a beautiful female figure in Station 4 and said it was a ghost of a female hiker who died due to an accident a long time ago. It became clear to me that the locals believe Station 4 is the darkest place to be after this weird sighting. My photographer who climbed all the way up to Station 7 with a guide took some pictures before being told of Station 4 being haunted. After the trip when she edited her photos in her laptop, there is one picture that shocked us all. It was a picture taken at Station 4 that looked like a hand is coming out from the ground trying to grab the photographer's camera. But when I analyze it again, I could see more. I saw a baby corpse in this photo. Can you see it? Try seeing it closer in the center. But my photographer said she could see two eyes in this picture staring at us. I saw it too. Can you see it? True enough that night after that trip, I found the photographer waking up at 3am and said she had a terrible dream. She said she dreamt of a woman carrying her baby and jump off a highway. When I saw this image in the photo, it gave me a chilling effect in my bone, thinking I am actually experiencing the evil vibes not in movie but in real life. My only regret was that I forgot to bring my video camera to film Station 4 in this trip. I am planning to make this my next expedition to find out more so that I could start filming Evil Vibes (Vol 3). Stay tuned!

TRAILER (2008)

This is the first trailer made when I first created the Evil Vibes Series in 2008. After having kept in the self for 2 years, this horror film project had finally been revived. With the completion of filming the romance drama film, "Music Box" in 2009, everyone is so excited for Evil Vibes Series return in 2010. SYNOPSIS

Some where in Japan, a young woman was jilted by a married man after having had an affair with him for three years. While recovering from the break-up, she received an unexpected message from something beyond this world. A strange message that will make her learn about life.

DIRECTOR COMMENT
This was my second experimental short film filmed in 2008 with only a single digital DV camera without any lighting or audio recording device. My niece, Celine Tan, helped me by becoming my actress with the assistance of her friend, Ogawa Tetsuo. Both done a pretty good job in terms of acting in this horror flick despite there was no script nor rehearsal but only my direction deriving from my personal instinct!

EVIL VIBES (Vol 2)

SYNOPSIS
It was one summer, three close friends (Jennifer, Lydia & Kent) spent their holidays exploring a cave temple at a mountain site and found a ghostly figure moving around at an old Chinese building. Lydia and Jennifer could see the ghost but Kent couldn’t. Then a year later, Lydia and Kent went to visit another cave temple where the vibes returned to haunt them again. This time, Kent saw something that he couldn’t see in the past which was even more frightening than what Jennifer and Lydia had seen a year ago.

DIRECTOR COMMENT
This is a second series of EVIL VIBES. It's in volume 2 with a different story. This time the sound effects and special effects are much better not to mention a brilliant story line without any preparation, scripts nor rehearsals. All done in a sponstaneous filming out from a simple holiday trip to Perak caves in November 2009. So have fun watching this film.
